All India Loco Running Staff Association (AILRSA) national vice-president T Hanumaiah has demanded that the Railway Board should give up its move to reduce their running allowances and pay element. Speaking at the AILRSA convention on Friday, he alleged that the board was trying to create differences among the staff for implementing its ‘anti-worker’ policies without facing any resistance.

“It had provided wrong data pertaining to their emoluments to the Seventh Pay Revision Commission as part of its greater conspiracy to reduce their allowances and it was amply reflected in the PRC report. The board had also pruned various benefits for the loco running staff recently,” alleged Hanumaiah.

Association national assistant secretary K Ramakrishna exhorted the loco running staff to stand united to better safeguard their interests from the `anti-worker’ policies of the board.

“The association will stage protests in the railway divisions deploring the move of the board to reduce our allowances,” he said. Association Vijayawada division president P Rajanna, divisional secretary M Venkatesan and other leaders were present.
