Jupudi joins Telugu Desam
In yet another jolt to the YSRCP, former party leader and MLC Jupudi Prabhakar Rao joined the ruling TDP. A strong leader from Mala community, Rao has been very close to YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy till recently. Rao called on the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Thursday evening.

Political circles say that the engineering graduate-turned-politician would be given an MLC post as his present term would end in March next year. Considered as one of the strong followers of late CM Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Jupudi stood by Jagan. He contested for Assembly election from Kondepi in Prakasam district, but lost. His grouse is said to be over ‘directionless’ of the party and apathy of the leadership to listen to seniors like him.
