There are no surprises when we say that AP is rightly followed by Telangana. These two states are even competing for the shared infamy.

As per the available data, Power lines are the worst in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states compared with the rest of the country, deaths due to electrocutions over the years are th eproff for these faulty lines.

As per the data available with the Ministry of Power for three years preceding 2013, the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh had the dubious distinction of maximum number of deaths due to electrical accidents in generation, transmission and distribution sectors.

The deaths were the highest in each of the three years, with progressively worsening statistics year on year.

Here are some statistics for you:

In 2010-11, the State recorded 635 fatalities.

In 2011-12, the State recorded an increase up to 722.

In 2012-13 the number further raised to 880 in the subsequent year.

Surprisingly, this amounted to 18-26 per cent of the total fatalities for the whole country, recorded at 3,392, 3,056 and 3,435 respectively for the three years.
