New Delhi: Though both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana share the premises of AP Bhavan in New Delhi at the ratio of 58:42, things do not seem to be spic and span in the nerve centre of regional politics in the national capital. According to sources, lack of proper amenities is dogging AP Bhavan and those who put up there during their Delhi trips find it hard to adjust.

Lack of heaters in the rooms, particularly in Godavari block, absence of hot water, shortage of space to have a dedicated media centre, poor coordination between the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, dearth of funds for renovation of the buildings they share, unfinished segregation of assets, lack of space for political and bureaucratic appointees, except for Andhra Pradesh government's special representative, are some of the issues that pester leaders and people’s representatives from both the States.

AP Information Centre’s

director P Kiran Kumar said though confusion prevailed over who exactly had the ownership to the 20.79 acres of land spread over three plots in New Delhi that belonged to the undivided Andhra Pradesh, there was a sense of camaraderie among the employees and visitors – the feel that all of them were Telugu-speaking people. There is also uncertainty over where the new Telangana Bhavan or AP Bhavan will be built, and when. The Centre has to give its nod for the buildings but both the States claim ownership of the existing building. The AP Bhavan is located near India Gate in Lutyen's Delhi.
