Vice-chairman and managing director of the AP Civil Supplies Corporation B Rajasekhar said six types of essential commodities would be supplied to the people as special gift from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during the Sankranti festival.
Kakinada: Vice-chairman and managing director of the AP Civil Supplies Corporation B Rajasekhar said six types of essential commodities would be supplied to the people as special gift from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during the Sankranti festival. Addressing the Joint Collectors and district civil supplies officers through a video conference from Hyderabad on Friday, he said that an action plan would be chalked out to supply the six types of essential commodities.
He instructed them to supply the commodities by the evening of January 12 successfully to all the ration cardholders.
Rajasekhar told the officials concerned to paste the posters on the walls to give publicity to this programme so that people would know about it. He said that the essential commodities should be sent to those fair price shops which have more ration cards. The food grains would be purchased from the millers, he said.
The Vice-chairman said that the district officials successfully implemented the relief measures to the victims of Hudhud cyclone.
Officer of the Civil Supplies G Umamaheshwara Rao said half litre of palm oil, half kg red gram, half kg jaggery, one kg chana dal (Bengal gram), one kg wheat, and one kg ghee were the six essential food commodities that would be supplied. He said that these commodities would be sent to the mandal level stock points by January 5. He said that there were 2,643 fair price shops in the districts and 15, 19, 406 ration cardholders.
Umamaheshwara Rao said that there were 759.703 metric tonnes of red gram, 759.703 kilo litres of palm oil, 759.703 metric tonnes of jaggery, 1519.406 metric tonnes of Bengal gram, 1519.406 metric tonnes of wheat and 151.9406 metric tonnes of ghee would be supplied.
Civil Supplies Divisional Manager TVSG Kumar, Assistant Director of Marketing Dinakar Babu, ASO Surapuraju, Prasad and others were present.
