AP CM also meets Malaysian PM, seeks investments

Hyderabad: On the final day of his Davos trip, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had a walk down memory lane as he met Microsoft founder Bill Gates at the World Economic Forum Annual Summit.

An old friend of Naidu, Bill Gates expressed his happiness over meeting the Chief Minister and said he was happy to see him after 10 long years. He congratulated him on his new gig. Further, Gates invited the Chief Minister to a private dinner being hosted by him at the WEF. Later in the day, the Chief Minister also met with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and discussed investment opportunities.

He also met with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and explained potential areas of investments in Andhra Pradesh. The Malaysian PM assured the Chief Minister that he would send a delegation to the state to explore investment opportunities in tourism and other sectors. The Chief Minister explained that the long coastline gives Andhra Pradesh an advantage of becoming the Gateway to South East Asia. During his meeting with the PM, the Chief Minister also recalled how former PM of Malaysia had supported (united) AP in investments.

In other meetings during the day, Naidu met B Goenka of Welspun group and took part in a session on “Global Dilemmas: Building Responsible Supply Chains for Tomorrow’s Consumers.” In the last meeting of the day, the Chief Minister met Sunil Mittal of the Bharti group and discussed 4G services in the state.

Naidu participated in a session on “The Future of Urban Development." Later, he took part in a discussion on establishing UN Centre for Water in Andhra Pradesh. In a bilateral meeting, he also met with Anish Shah and CP Gurnani, Mahindra group, CEO of Royal Phillips, Frans Van Houten, CEO of Diageo Plc. Ivan Menezes.
