Works will be taken up under the Mahathma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNAREGA). Chowdhury told The Hans India that apart from restoration of all water bodies in the district, steps were being taken to evict illegal encroachers of village irrigation tanks. Notices will first be issued to vacate the encroached lands voluntarily. If they failed to vacate them within the specified time, measures will be taken to evict them legally.
