Right from Monday morning, the word “Amaravati” started trending on Twitter and Facebook and other websites. Twitter users described the name as the best apart from mentioning its advantages.


Interestingly, the historical town, Amaravati is not part of the 29 capital villages and is 15 km from Tullur which is the centre of the capital region.


With a 2,000-year-old history, Amaravati was declared a Unesco Heritage Town recently and is among the 12 towns in India with a heritage tag. Hence, Amaravati is considered the apt name to draw attention of the people worldwide.
