The AP Cadre who preferred to continue work in the Telangana State Cadre post bifurcation, are now favouring to work in AP with the increase in the retirement limit from 58 to 60 years. Seemandhra employees changed their routes as two years of additional service would fetch approximately Rs 30 lakh benefits for each employee in terms of incentives and salaries.

Even Telangana State employees who were allotted on a provisional basis to the AP government in June last year are favouring to continue in the AP Cadre with the Telangana government ruling out an increase in the retirement age and AP availing the retirement age benefit.

Seemandhra employees made a representation to counter the TS employees to the Kamalnathan Committee to give preference to nativity of employees before the allotment to a particular state which resulted in the change of the allotment norms, approved by both the state governments.

Mr Rajiv Sharma and Mr I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, Chief Secretaries of TS and AP, gave consent letters to the effect on behalf of the state governments.

The Committee’s revised guidelines include the options considered for the employees only if their spouse is a civil services officer. If the couples of state want postings in their native state, it will be allotted but if they are non-locals of the state they choose, the option will not be considered.
