20% bus fare hiked in AP

During the recent announcement of fitment to RTC employees, Andhra Pradesh government stated that there will be no hike in bus fare anytime in the near future. However, the statement has turned around as 20% RTC fare has been hiked by the AP Government.

With the hike, the commuters are going to face the burden of over 830 crores. RTC MD N Sambasiva Rao submitted the proposal for the bus fare hike to Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao.

The hike is said to commence after 'Nava Nirmana Deeksha' which is being conducted by TDP concludes and the hike will be applicable from 'Palle velugu' buses to Garuda plus and Vennela buses.
