Vijayawada: The TDP government has been giving priority for irrigation, said TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. He said the government issued several GOs and determined to complete the first phase of Pattiseema Lift irrigation project by August 15. Addressing Telugu Desam Party state meeting here on Saturday, Naidu said that the government has been planning to bring 20,000 cusecs of Godavari water through Polavaram right main canal to Krishna river at Prakasam barrage to meet the
requirements of Krishna delta.

He said that the water saved in Krishna river through linking of Godavari with Krishna, people of Rayalaseema region would be benefited as they would get water for both drinking and irrigation, so utmost priority given to Handri Neeva Phase I. He said the government protected the crops in 8.5 lakh acres in Nellore district by better water management despite shortage of water.

Besides irrigation, Naidu said that the TDP government is giving priority to welfare, service sector and development and cited several welfare schemes including loan waiver to farmers, Dwacra groups besides loan waiver scheme to be extended for fishermen and weavers.

Praising the commitment of farmers of capital region who came forward and offered 33,000 acres, he said that response of farmers reveals their confidence on TDP government and assured to come up with world-class capital city. Naidu said under Mee Bhumi- Mee Intiki scheme to be launched on August 8, the land records would be made online for transparency and the farmers would be given pass books free of cost.

He said that the process of 64 services of revenue department would be simplified and the number of services will be brought down by linking with Aadhaar card and certificates will be issued on line. He also said that 70,000 digitabs were distributed to officials including village revenue officers for effective functioning of administration and to get online data and urged the party leaders to achieve hundred per cent results by involving public in the implementation of all programmes.

He said that in a recent survey conducted on development programmes 80 per cent people supported the schemes in some constituencies and 40 per cent in other constituencies. He asked the party leaders who are responsible for poor results in survey.He said ministers, MPs, MLAs and ZP chairmen should actively participate in implementing the development programmes to establish direct contact with people. Earlier, the TDP leaders paid homage to former President Abdul Kalam and those who died in Godavari Pushkaralu by observing two minutes silence.
