Justice Reddy Kantha Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday ordered notices to the Central government and the governments of the twin states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on the question of procedure followed during promotions of Circle Inspectors, Additional Superintendents and Deputy Superintendents of Police.

Hyderabad: Justice Reddy Kantha Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday ordered notices to the Central government and the governments of the twin states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on the question of procedure followed during promotions of Circle Inspectors, Additional Superintendents and Deputy Superintendents of Police.
The judge was dealing with a petition filed by A R Damodar and 24 others. The petitioners questioned the action of the governments in not implementing a GO Ms.No.108, issued on Feb 22, 2014 based on the letter of the DGP of the AP. Appearing for the petitioner, counsel P V Krishnaiah pointed out that authorities had grossly erred in preparing the seniority list of direct recruit DSPs and rank promotees and the authorities even gave promotions to the officers who were no more.
