Onion supply at subsidy price to continue

Srikakulam: Civil Supplies Minister P Sunitha assured that the supply of onions would be continued at subsidy price till the price comes down. She visited Rythu Bazaar here on Thursday and interacted with farmers and consumers.

Addressing the gathering, she said that supply of onions has been done since July 29 at subsidy price. She admitted that initially supply of onions at subsidy was misused by officials but subsequently norms altered by introducing Aadhaar and later by supplying on white ration cards.

The Minister explained that cabinet sub-committee formed to take measures for control of prices of essential commodities. MP K Rammohan Naidu, ZP chairperson Ch Dhanalaxmi accompanied her.
