The Chief Minister who unveiled pylon signifying the interlinking of the two rivers, performed the Varuna Yagam along with offering special prayers at the convergence point of the two rivers at Ibrahimpatnam.
Statues of Godavari and Krishna were installed on both sides of the pylon. The special programme had many ministers including Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Labour Minister K Atchennaidu, Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu, BC Welfare Minister Kollu Ravindra, MPs - Kesineni Nani, K Haribabu, Maganti Babu and Konakalla Narayana along with MLAs, MLCs and other officials gracing the event.
