A sports and cultural meet for senior citizens will be conducted by the Krishna District Senior Citizens Welfare Association at Siddhartha Public School on Sunday.
Association president M Venkateswara Rao informed that MLA Gadde Rammohan would inaugurate the sports and cultural meet. “The event planned to mark International Day of Older Persons on October 1, is a different one.
Senior citizens participating in the sports meet can win the events at their own pace. Shot put, discus throw, chess, caroms, musical chairs, lemon and spoon race and memory games will be held for people above 60 years of age,” he said.
A poetry session will also be held at the Freedom Fighters Bhavan on Monday. Prizes will be distributed to winners of the meet on October 1. Interested citizens can contact the event organisers on 9492211666 and 9441308040 for enrollment.
