White Paper on sand mining released

As the TDP government is trying to stay far away from the controversies surrounding sand mining and bauxite sand mining, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had released a White Paper on bauxite mining in a bid to silence the Opposition. On Thursday, the Chief Minister released a White Paper on sand reaches and said that from the identified 387 sand reaches in the state, mining was taken up with 1.37 cubic meters of sand getting sold.
While advanced technology was used to stop illegal sand mining, the highest income of Rs. 147.37 crores was bagged in East Godavari district and the sand reaches were given to 4,023 self-help groups.
