First time in the State to be introduced as a pilot project in Vizag North segment

Visakhapatnam: Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao informed that all types of government welfare pension holders of Vizag North Assembly segment would be paid regularly on the first of every month through their bank accounts which will be first of its kind to be introduced in the State as a pilot project.

Addressing the Janma bhoomi-Maa-Vooru Gram Sabha organised at the Ward No. 31 here on Saturday, the Minister said that’ pensions through bank accounts’ is a model pilot project would be launched following the request of BJP MLA P Vishnukumar Raju.

He said the present JB is focusing mainly on smart villages and smart wards with the main concept of adoption of villages and wards. Despite the State witnessing a huge deficit budget to the tune of Rs 16,500 crore after the bifurcation, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is implementing more and more welfare schemes for the poor, he explained. Stating that a total of 1.87 lakh people have applied for NTR Housing scheme, he informed that the last date has been extended by another 10 days.
A sum of Rs 33 crore has been sanctioned under SC, ST Sub-Plan to take up various development works in the city, he added.MLA Vishnukumar Raju said that he was happy that the government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for the Assembly segment development and about 14,500 ration cards have been sanctioned.
He urged Joint Collector J Nivas to initiate steps enabling the ration card holders take all commodities in a single go. The Minister and the MLA appreciated one Ram Kumar who came forward to adopt the ward. Collector N Yuvaraj, Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar, Zonal Commissioners and MLC Dr MVVS Murthi were present. Earlier, the Janmabhoomi message of Chief Minister was read out.
