Visakha RTC region to ply 101 specials to clear Sankranti rush

The Visakha Region of Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will ply as many as 101 special services to clear Sankranti rush from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam from January 8 to 13 and for return journey on January 17 and 18 , according to regional manager G Sudesh Kumar.

Visakhapatnam: The Visakha Region of Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will ply as many as 101 special services to clear Sankranti rush from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam from January 8 to 13 and for return journey on January 17 and 18 , according to regional manager G Sudesh Kumar.

“Sensing additional passenger rush for Sankranti, we decided to ply 101 special services from January 8 to 13 by deploying Garuda, super luxury and deluxe buses. Similarly, 55 services will be run for return journey from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad on January 17 and 18. Depending upon the demand, we can deploy more services”, Sudhesh Kumar told The Hans India.

He said online advance booking was also provided to estimate the demand in advance. He informed that as the passenger rush from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam is also high for Sankranti, special services will be run from Vijayawada from January 10 night and for return journey, 25 services will be plied from January 17 and 18. Apart from this, two Pongal special services one each from Chennai and Bengaluru to Visakhapatnam will also be plied on the night of January 11, he added.

About the ticket fares, Sudesh Kumar said as these special services are in addition to the regular services, normally the fare will be a little bit higher than the regular fares.

He appealed to the public to book their tickets online in advance to avoid last minute rush and to enable them to run more services.
