Visakhapatnam: Member of Legislative Council (MLC) and president of Gitam University Dr M V V S Murthi on Sunday said that there was no place for thieves and cheats in Vizag and they often create troubles as they could not digest the fast development in the State in a short span of 18 months by the TDP Government.
Indirectly hitting at the Opposition and taking strong exception for creating pandemonium in public meetings and Assembly, for the first time, the MLC turned furious at a Janmabhoomi Gram Sabha organised in One-Town by MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar.
Stating that they create unrest in meetings only for media publicity, he said that the Vizag people had even rejected the mother of Opposition leader when she came here to contest in the elections asking her to remain in Kadapa. They also tried to change peaceful Vizag as another Kadapa for which the Vizag people taught a fitting lesson.
Dr Murthi said that MLA Vasupalli was a man always striving for the welfare of poor and appealed to the people to utilise the Gram Sabhas as the entire government machinery was attending to solve the problems. Vasupalli said that the previous government had looted crores of rupees in the name of Arogya Sri health scheme and even gave a ration card to Sania Mirza. Later, both the leaders offered silk saris, sweets and bananas to pregnant women as a part of Seemantham and distributed cheques to the Self-Help Groups.
