Hearing on Vishnus police custody today
The petition filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) seeking custody of former Congress MLA Malladi Vishnu, ninth accused in liquor tragedy case, was posted to Wednesday by II additional chief metropolitan magistrate court here on Tuesday.
​Vijayawada: The petition filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) seeking custody of former Congress MLA Malladi Vishnu, ninth accused in liquor tragedy case, was posted to Wednesday by II additional chief metropolitan magistrate court here on Tuesday.
The court asked the police to submit the forensic lab report in a sealed cover by today. The court is likely to take a decision on the police custody of Vishnu today.
It may be recalled that the police arrested 11 persons including former MLA Malladi Vishnu and his brother Srinivas in liquor tragedy case. Vishnu was arrested and lodged in Vijayawada sub-jail, and he is to be under judicial remand till January 19.
Meanwhile, nine persons accused in the case were given bail on Tuesday. The court sanctioned bail and asked them to appear before the police station on every Sunday.
