Vijayawada: Former Minister Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for not initiating any measures to allocate plots for the farmers who have given their fertile lands for capital construction.
Talking to the newsmen here on Friday, Sobhanadreeswara Rao said that the Chief Minister, who promised of people’s capital, had taken a U-turn and benefiting the corporate companies now.
Till date no measures were taken by the government in allocating plots to the farmers of 29 villages, who voluntarily gave their lands for the capital construction, he alleged.
He underlined the need for holding comprehensive discussions on the draft master plan for capital city. There were many objections from the farmers associations especially over the agriculture zone, capital region, capital city master plan released by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA).
He wondered why the State government was not initiating measures to hold discussions with the people’s organisations and farmers association which were strongly objecting the proposed master plan.
Measures should be taken by the government in holding discussions with the local bodies and redesign the master plan taking their resolutions into consideration, he said.
The former mminister also wanted the government to constitute a separate organisation with the intellectuals after considering their objections.
The master plan should also be changed according to the residential, business, industries, service, education, health and tourism development in each mandal, he said.
At least now, the State government should feel responsibility and direct the officials to print the master plan in Telugu language and extend the last date for submission of objections on master plan till March, he added.
Expressing his objection over the proposed Agriculture Protection Zones under the CRDA limit, Sobhanadrees- wara Rao said that majority of the Ministers and people’s representatives have purchased thousands of acres in the proposed capital region.
It was only the State government’s move of price hiking the lands to benefit the realtors, he alleged. Later, the former minister released a booklet on the objections of capital city-seed capital draft master plans.
