Bible Mission meet draws huge crowds

Guntur: Narsaraopeta MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and former minister Dokka Manikya Prasad have described Jesus Christ as an embodiment of peace, love and goodwill, which he spread throughout the world. The Bible Mission, founded by Father Devadas, had been promoting the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ and the healing power of Christ, they said while addressing the first day of the 3-day Bible Mission Convention, organised at Kakani village here on Wednesday.

A host of dignitaries, Christian leaders and the clergy graced the occasion to hear the heart melting music and the sermons on Christ. Samuel Kiran, the Mission secretary, spoke on the great teachings of Christ which changed the face of the world for good. The other speakers said that the impact of Christ on planet earth was huge and He continued to be a celebrity and still alive in the hearts of people world over. Jesus taught forgiveness to mankind and to forgive one's enemies. Bless them that curse you and curse not. Do good to them who hate you and say all manner of evil against you falsely, the speakers reminded.

The 50-acre land was filled with a sea of humanity resembling a huge township, which came up overnight with hundreds of tents. The gathering at the convention surpasses the population of Guntur city and resembled like a paradise on earth, said Aruna Kumari, a Hindu woman who came to see the sight of people and the massive arrangements. The convention will conclude on Friday.
