Chittoor: The employees of the Endowments department and Archakas have staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Monday, demanding the State government to arrest the TDP leader Manohara Naidu, who had reportedly assaulted Assistant Commissioner of the Endowments Mallikarjuna on Saturday.
It may be stated here that Manohara Naidu, who belongs to Gangadhara Nellore Assembly Constituency, had assaulted Mallikarjuna in his office for not responding to his requisition. Mallikarjuna has lodged a complaint with Two Town police station to take action against the TDP leader for manhandling him while he was in duty.
Even, Manohara Naidu also lodged a complaint in Gangadhara Nellore police station alleging that Mallikarjuna had insulted him using abusive words. In support of Manohara Naidu, his associates also staged a dharna and rasta roko at Gandhi Statue here on Monday.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, DSP Lakshmi Naidu said that Mallikarjuna and Manohara Naidu have lodged complaints against each other. He said that two of the aides of Manohara Naidu were arrested for allegedly attacking the Endowment official.
The incident has become a sensation in the district while the YSRCP has taken it as an advantage to damage the credibility of the TDP and its President N Chandrababu Naidu. The YSRCP leaders have demanded the arrest of the TDP leader for manhandling a government official.
It may be stated here that Manohara Naidu is having close contacts with Chandrababu Naidu for the last 20 years. TDP district president Srinivasulu has made futile efforts to compromise both the parties in the interest of the party’s image. He submitted a detailed report for high command over the incident. Chandrababu Naidu reportedly expressed anger and dismay over the rude behaviour of the TDP leader.
