  • Blindfold attempt today

A 40-member team from the adventure groups, including local tribal youth, rappelled down the 400-plus feet Katika Falls to create a new world record. “We have organised this at Katika so as to promote the region as a global tourism destination. We are happy that we managed to create a world record. Apart from our team, 10 local tribal boys are being trained as trekking guides.

They have been trained into the nuances of rock climbing and rappelling so that they could double up as trained guides while the government promotes adventure ecotourism in the region,” said Founder Director of ACTS K Ranga Rao.

Amaze Adventures’ Managing Director Kalpesh Shah said, “We are happy to announce that we passed another milestone. We have been organising waterfall rappelling exercises since 2010. This feat is officially recognised by the Limca Book of Records.”
