The members of Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union (PRTU) staged protest here at Dharna Chowk on Monday demanding the state government to repeal the Contributory Pension System (CPS) and revive the previous General Provident Fund (GPF) Pension system for government employees who were appointed after 2003. The PRTU Nizamabad unit organised staged the protest on the call given by State unit.

Nizamabad: The members of Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union (PRTU) staged protest here at Dharna Chowk on Monday demanding the state government to repeal the Contributory Pension System (CPS) and revive the previous General Provident Fund (GPF) Pension system for government employees who were appointed after 2003. The PRTU Nizamabad unit organised staged the protest on the call given by State unit.

Various other teachers’ unions also extended their support to the protest and demanded the state government to revive previous pensions system which was more beneficial than present CPS. Later, the PRTU leaders and members submitted representation to the district officials to solve their problems.

District PRTU President Manohar said that the CPS would not protect the rights of employees who were appointed after 2003. Stating that the TRS government was employee-friendly and that the PRTU had actively participated in the Telangana movement, he urged the government to fulfill their demands and solve their problems.
