Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh State Assembly, which will meet today, after a three day gap, is set to witness a stormy session as the opposition YSR Congress Party is preparing to take on the government over several issues like budget preparation, construction of irrigation projects and the new capital city and the poll promises made by the ruling party.

The opposition party is likely to attack the government over the budget estimation of the previous and current financial years. According to sources, the opposition party has taken a view that there seems no difference between the revised estimates of the previous financial year and the budget estimates for 2016-17.
Confirming the same, a senior MLA from YSRCP said, “Finance Minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu claimed to have spent about 90 per cent of the budget allocations during the financial year 2015-16. But, he did not give any details. On the top of that, he shows about Rs 20,000 crore as shortfall in funds.”
Further the MLA added that, the Finance Minister did not utter a word about how he intends to mop-up such a huge gap. The government has already admitted that it failed to draw enough funds from the Centre to cover post-bifurcation financial crunch. Citing these points, the YSRCP hinted of heated debate ahead in the Assembly on Sunday.
The opposition also sees an opportunity to corner the government over the allegations of corruption in ongoing major construction projects including the capital city and irrigation projects. As per the sources in YSRC Party, Dhone MLA, B Rajendranath Reddy and three other MLAs were given the responsibility to lead the attack on government during the discussion on budget.
Meanwhile, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Assembly is likely to be held on Monday to decide on a date to take up the no-confidence motion, pushed by the YSRC party against the council of ministers. The notice for the no-confidence motion was admitted by Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao on March 10. According to the sources, it is likely to be taken up after the Appropriation Bill is passed.
