Srikakulam: “State Bank of India (SBI) is going to be a paperless bank in near future as we are adopting digital technology for everything,” said its Chief General Manager (CGM) for AP and Telengana states Haradayal Prasad.
He visited Regional Business Office (RBO) and main branch of SBI in Srikakulam on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the CGM said all transactions would be digitalised soon in SBI. With the new technology, one can open one’s account on their own within 12 minutes by feeding details of all required documents into computers.

In all, 50 new branches would be opened in two states by September this year in addition to existing 1,500 branches, he said. Replying to a query, the CGM explained that they were concentrating on sanction of Mudra loans.

“SBI has rigid and transparent system in sanction, recovery of loans and administration of branches. As a result, no question of arising of nonperforming assets (NPA),” he elaborated.
