Speaking to media persons at the party office here on Tuesday, BJP district unit president Yenimireddy Malkondareddy said that they have taken the decision as the TDP government has not been acknowledging the contribution of NDA government in the Centre-sponsored schemes.

“Our party has 4 lakh strong members in the district and we completed the elections to village, mandal and district level committees recently,” the BJP leader said. During the three-day promotional campaign, the BJP activists will visit all villages and insist on display of photographs of Prime Minister Narenda Modi at the panchayat offices.

He said that they have noticed no mention of Centre’s contribution while implementing the Centrally-sponsored schemes at village level. In some areas, the party noticed that several panchayats were asked to return the Central grant to State in order to receive fresh funding for these schemes.

The BJP leader alleged that the TDP was hijacking these schemes and claiming them as their own. “We have taken up the awareness programme to place the facts before public,” he said. Malakondareddy made it clear that the BJP does not adopt confrontation attitude with its alliance partner but wants to put the facts before people.

He also said that they will be organising the party formation day, birth anniversaries of Mahatma Phule and Ambedkar on a massive scale in the district. Party senior leader V Suryanarayana Raju, Kakinada city unit president N V Saibaba and other leaders were present.
