A team of PCC office bearers led by PCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy here on Thursday met AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi in this regard and explained to him the necessity to intervene.

They told him how the students from minority communities were benefited when the then Congress government provided reservations for them in education after coming back to power in united AP in 2004. Rahul Gandhi reportedly assured them of full cooperation of the high command in this regard and called up senior Congress leader and former Minister, Salman Khurshid, and summoned him to the party headquarters to chalk out the legal recourse.

Salman Khurshid rushed to the AICC headquarters at 5 pm and was closeted with the APCC leaders and the party general secretary, Digvijay Singh, to discuss the issue.
