The State government on Tuesday announced the creation of new Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) at Chintur in East Godavari district as headquarters. This is the 7th ITDA in the State  after bifurcation in 2014. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would formally announce the formation of the new ITDA during his tour to the area on Wednesday.

Vijayawada: The State government on Tuesday announced the creation of new Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) at Chintur in East Godavari district as headquarters. This is the 7th ITDA in the State after bifurcation in 2014. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would formally announce the formation of the new ITDA during his tour to the area on Wednesday.

The State has ITDAs at Paderu in Visakhapatnam, Seethampeta in Srikakulam, Rampachodavaram in East Godavari and Kotha Ramachandrapuram inWest Godavari. In addition to these, an exclusive ITDA for Chenchu community is located in Srisailam of Kurnool for the community spread over Kurnool, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts.

Though the seven mandals from Khammam were merged with the State in 2014, they are deprived of the special care for all these months. The jurisdiction of the newly created ITDA at Chintur in East Godavari district will have Bhadrachalam revenue mandal barring Bhadrachalam revenue village, revenue mandals of Kunavaram, Chintur and VR Puram with headquarters in Chintur.
