Tirupati: The TTD decided to shift one of its SE (Superintendent Engineer) offices to Vijayawada, even as the TDP government is being accused by the opposition more so the Rayalaseema groups of concentrating and confining its development initiatives only to capital city leaving other areas into lurch.

The TTD Chief Engineer (CE) issued orders of shifting SE-III circle office to Amaravati on May 2, 2016. The order said shifting was necessitated in order to have close monitoring and quality management of the works. The TTD had decided to locate the headquarters of SE-III circle in Vijayawada.

Following the relocation of SE-III circle, the TTD also reallocated the circle of SE-I, SE-III and SE-Vedic. With the shifting of SE-III circle office from Tirupati to Vijayawada, the respective staff would be shifted to Vijayawada. The drawing officers concerned were requested to relieve the staff immediately. It is needless to say that the Rayalaseema organisations are crying foul at the TTD move to shift its SE-III circle office along with its divisions and staff to Vijayawada.

Rayalaseema Porata Samithi (RPS) district convener P Naveen Kumar Reddy fired first salvo against the move. He suspected it as a conspiracy to divert TTD funds to Amaravati area. He said that the TTD EO, who is from Krishna district, with the tacit approval of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and TTD Chairman systematically working to shift the TTD wings to Amaravati. Already, the TTD was forced to take up construction of a guest house in Kotapakonda and latest to build model temple in various places in Krishna and Godavari districts with TTD funds.

He also suspected the shifting of SE office as a part of the large design to spend TTD funds in a big way in Amaravati. Reddy said that the TTD Chairman and other trust board members from Tirupati keeping quite on shifting SE-III office, fearing to lose their position. Naveen said that RPS along with TTD employees and likeminded Rayalaseeema organisations will take up movement to stop the shifting of SE-III circle office.
