Workshop on Smart Mandal initiative

Visakhapatnam: In line with the Chief Minister’s Smart Village concept, the UNICEF has initiated a project involving Society for
Participatory Research Institute in Asia, a Delhi-based NGO, Anandapuram mandal administration, district administration and Smart
Andhra Pradesh Foundation to support all partners and community to strengthen the Smart initiatives.

As part of it, a workshop on Smart Village/Smart Ward programme was held on Wednesday taking the Smart initiatives of Anandapuram
mandal in the district into consideration.

Collector N Yuvaraj said gram panchayats take collective responsibility of realising the vision of development while the consultative
partners will guide and demonstrate innovations, latest technologies and resources for sustainable development within gram panchayats.
He informed this would help strengthen ongoing services and schemes effectively to ensure significant improvement in the identified
area.

He said that the meeting was intended to create a learning lab to all the stakeholders by convening meetings, build evidences,
demonstrate innovations, mobilise resources, trigger processes, share and learn from each others’ efforts.

To build a collaborative and conducive working environment among all partners to make Anandapuram a Smart Mandal, this first multi-
stakeholders consultative meeting/workshop was held, he added.

Presidents of gram panchayats, mandal officials, heads of departments of district administration and corporate partners were present at
the meet.
