Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam district obtained sixth rank in the State in the SSC examination, results of which were announced here on Tuesday. The pass percentage was 94.7, highest since last six years. Last year, the pass percentage was 91.76. Around 14 students from the government schools in the rural areas score 10 out of 10 and of them eight were girls. About 521 students from private schools scored 10/10 marks.
District educational officer M Venkata Krishna Reddy said 453 schools recorded 100 percent pass and of them 234 were private schools and rest government schools.
About 56,284 students appeared for the SSC examination from 922 government schools and 432 private schools.
The 14 students who scored 10/10 include Adari Tejeswini, I Mohan Rao, Pyla Neelima, T Usharani, D Govindu, S Aparan Kavya, K Pradeep, B Soujanya, A Sonit, G David Tarun, K Mounika Durga, P Jayadeepika, Pyla Kavyasri and M Revathi.
Srikakulam stands fourth in SSC results
Srikakulam: Srikakulam secured fourth place in the State in SSC results which were released on Tuesday. According to district education officer D Devananda Reddy, out of 37,774 candidates 36,263 passed and pass percentage is 96.08. Girls pass percentage is higher than boys this year in Srikakulam; girls pass percentage is 96.29 and boys’ percentage is 95.85.
Private schools achieved 97 pass percentage, while the government schools percentage is 95 in the district. Last year, SSC pass percentage was 92.79 and 201 students achieved 10/10 ranking. While this time the pass percentage is 96.08 and 282 students achieved 10/10 ranking.
