Vijayawada: The executive committee of Municipal Teachers Federation of Andhra Pradesh (MTF) discussed the problems of Urdu teachers at a meeting held in the city on Thursday. MTF president S Ramakrishna urged the State government to exempt Urdu municipal schools from the rationalisation process.

He demanded the government to fill the pots of head masters in high schools apart from B Ed teachers’ posts that were lying vacant in the Urdu medium schools in the State. He said that it is the need of the hour to strengthen education in Urdu high schools and appealed to the State government to appoint supervisor-level officer in all municipal corporations for supervision of Urdu medium schools.

“The charter of demands would be submitted to the government seeking a better deal for Urdu teachers,” the MTF president said. MTF honorary president B Srinivas Reddy, State executive members MS Imam Basha, D Madhu, K Satyanarayana, Sk Basha and others attended the meeting.
