Addressing the media at Social Welfare Office of SC Corporation at Birla Gate here on Tuesday, Joint Collector Hari Kiran said genuine beneficiaries would be identified to extend the loans.

He said 2,081 applications have been received so far, of them, 600 applications were found to be valid. The remaining 1,481 applications would be considered after thoroughly scrutinising their details. He said three committees have been constituted to conduct interviews at three revenue divisions of Kurnool, i.e, on May 24 at Kurnool, May 25 at Nandyal and May 26 at Adoni.

He said the selection of applicants would depend on the marks they obtain and added that 12 marks would be given for educational qualification and 28 marks for their expertise in their respective fields. The list of shortlisted applicants would be sent to the government by May 31, he said and added that 246 applicants were sanctioned loans during 2015-16, he said.

He said, “Prospective applicants have to bring their original academic certificates, family cards, transfer certificates issued last in educational institution, caste certificate and proof of residence in State for the last three years.” JDA Uma Maheshwari, DRDA PD Rama Krishna, MVI Chandrababu and SC Corporation ED Veera Obulu were present.
