Anantapur and Guntakal received nine cm rainfall during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Sunday, as rain occurred at isolated places in coastal AP and at most places in Rayalaseema. According to the Met office, there was heavy rain in Madakasira (eight cm), C Belagal, Simhadripuram, Ramagiri, Gorantla, Allagadda, Pattikonda, Dharmavaram (seven cm each).

According to the Met office, there was heavy rain in Madakasira (eight cm), C Belagal, Simhadripuram, Ramagiri, Gorantla, Allagadda, Pattikonda, Dharmavaram (seven cm each).

The Met office said on Sunday that there was a marked fall in the day temperatures at a few places in the coastal districts. However, there was no large change in maximum temperatures in Rayalaseema. The highest maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jangamaheswarapuram.

The forecast said, as the trough from Chhattisgarh to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and south coastal Andhra Pradesh is persisting there will be light to moderate rain/thundershowers at a few places in the coastal districts and Rayalaseema from May 30 to June 2.
