Hyderabad: The Met office on Monday issued a warning of the thunderstorm with squall lashing at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East & West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool districts on May 31 and June 1.

The forecast said, as the trough from Chhattisgarh to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and south coastal AP is persisting, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in the coastal districts and Rayalaseema from May 31 to June 3. There will be no large change in the weather outlook during the subsequent two days.

According to the Met office, during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, rain occurred at isolated places in coastal AP and Rayalaseema. There was four cm rain each in Balajipeta and Garugubilli (both in Vizianagaram district) and three cm each in Gonegandla, Yemmiganur.

Two cm rain each occurred in Seethanagaram, Koyyalagudem, Parvathipuram, Nandavaram and one cm in Kurnool. There was a marked rise in the day temperatures at one or two places in coastal AP and a marked fall in most places in Rayalaseema.
