A 35-year-old man was drowned in a tank while trying to save a 12-year-old boy near Guddipa area under Ravikamatam police station limits in the rural district on Thursday. The 12-year-old boy was identified as I Sateesh Kumar,  a Class-VI student of Government School, and G Sreenu (35), a farmer. 

Visakhapatnam: A 35-year-old man was drowned in a tank while trying to save a 12-year-old boy near Guddipa area under Ravikamatam police station limits in the rural district on Thursday. The 12-year-old boy was identified as I Sateesh Kumar, a Class-VI student of Government School, and G Sreenu (35), a farmer.

Sub-Inspector of Ravikamatham police station P Suresh Kumar said that Sateesh had gone to the local tank for a swim to beat the scorching heat and he accidentally drowned. Sreenu, who noticed the boy drowning, jumped into the tank to rescue him, but in the process, he, too, drowned.

Based on the information, the police with the help of fishermen retrieved the bodies from the tank and shifted them to the government hospital for post-mortem.
