Vijayawada: Minister for Water Resources Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao lashed out at YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy for his comments on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and alleged that the Leader of Opposition has personality disorder. “People with this disorder are either high or depressed,” he mocked.

Psychologists said that Jagan’s behaviour is similar to that of one with personality disorder,” he ridiculed.

The Minister found fault with Vijay Sai Reddy’s nomination to Rajya Sabha seat. “Only an accused will support the candidature of another accused,” he chided.

Stating that the Leader of Opposition should behave in a dignified way, Uma questioned the purpose of Jagan’s Rythu Bharosa Yatra, when farmers are eagerly waiting for monsoon. The Minister said nine districts received excess rain fall since April this year, three districts had normal rainfall and one district Chittoor received scanty rainfall.

Commenting on increase in ground water levels, Uma claimed that levels rose by 1.61 metres and attributed it to the farm ponds and water percolation pits. “As a result of water conservation programmes, the ground water reserves in the State were registered 145 tmc ft.

The Minister said that the ground water level in Chittoor increased to 17.02 metres, 8.48 metres din Kadapa district and six metres in Rayalaseema region.

The ground water level stands at 12.37 metres in the State including 10.84 metres in coastal Andhra and 15.82 in Rayalaseema region.
