After inspecting the construction at temporary Secretariat in Velagapudi on Sunday, Narayana told press persons that the Secretariat would start functioning from June 27 without any delay.

He instructed the engineering officials of the L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji companies to wrap up construction of the buildings within the stipulated time to shift the employees. He said that the CRDA would finalise the tenders to lay internal roads in the temporary secretariat within two days.

He said the employees had already agreed to shift to Velagapudi and assured to provide necessary facilities to the employees. The Minister pointed out that they had already taken steps to construct a sub-station to supply un-interrupted power to temporary secretariat, besides the steps to lay pipeline from Krishna river to temporary secretariat.

“At present construction companies are constructing partition walls in the temporary Secretariat buildings. The CRDA has decided to lay eight elevated highways to Velgapudi for the smooth flow of traffic in the capital. Road widening work has already started in Tadikonda for the smooth flow of traffic,” he added.

The Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who had inspected works here recently instructed the representatives of construction companies to first complete buildings blocks so that employees can start working. It may be mentioned that women employees had already visited the temporary secretariat premises and expressed their willingness to shift to Amaravati.

Endowments commissioner office will be set up in Pedakakani temple premises. Efforts are being made to shift to Pedakakani. Agriculture commissioner office will be shifted to Guntur city. The marketing department commissioner office will be shifted to Guntur city. Intermediate Education commissioner office will be shifted to Gorantla by June 27.

Officials and employees of various departments had already visited Guntur city and enquired about house rents and expressed willingness to relocate.
