Fill up SC ST backlog posts Karem Sivaji tells Collectors

Visakhapatnam: Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State SC ST Commission Karem Sivaji disclosed that the Collectors were told to fill up SC, ST backlog posts by June-end.

The Chairman, who was here on Wednesday, told reporters that already some backlog posts in railways were filled up in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Ongole.

He said that the commission is mainly focusing on the welfare of poor SC and ST beneficiaries in the rural areas whether they are availing the government welfare schemes properly and chalked out an action plan to educate rural beneficiaries.
Special steps have been initiated to eradicate caste discrimination in the State and the commission is striving for the uplift of SCs and STs.

Coming down heavily on the UPA government, which bifurcated the State unilaterally, the Chairman alleged that all fixed assets were endorsed to the Telangana State, while a deficit budget and debts to Navyandhra Pradesh.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been motivating the people of Andhra Pradesh in the name of Nava Nirmana Deeksha from June 2 by appealing them to involve in the construction of capital at Amaravati.

To a query, he said that all the project officers of Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) in the State were directed to send medical officers to interior and hill top hamlets in the Agency areas to provide medicare to the tribals in the rainy season.

The commission will also be taking up special welfare schemes to develop tribal hamlets in the State, he added. Deputy Director of Social Welfare D V Ramana Murty, district social welfare officer K Rama Rao, accounts officer of SC Corporation S Jagannadha Rao assistant social welfare officer P Syamalarani and others were present.

Later, the Chairman received representations from the SC ST beneficiaries and organisations at the Government Circuit House, assuring necessary help.
