Yoga Day celebrated at Sainik School
Principal-in-charge of Sainik School Lt Col Praveen Kumar led the programme. Almost 455 cadets of Sainik School along with school staff performed the asanas at Saikor Sports Complex here.
Vizianagaram: Hundreds of NCC cadets participated in the International Yoga Day celebrations organised at Sainik School, Korukonda on Tuesday.
Principal-in-charge of Sainik School Lt Col Praveen Kumar led the programme. Almost 455 cadets of Sainik School along with school staff performed the asanas at Saikor Sports Complex here.
Sainik School, Korukonda, also boasts of having a yoga club, which imparts training among the cadets on the basics of yoga.
Cadets enthusiastically took part in International Yoga Day celebrations. It was learnt that they learnt various asanas and yoga mudras for the last 20 days.
The event was conducted in a befitting manner and Lt Col Praveen Kumar expressed his satisfaction over the conduct of International Yoga Day.
In order to promote yoga among teaching staff and schoolchildren, efforts are being made to conduct a basic course on yoga in school, he added.
