Threat to Dalits in TDP rule: YSRCP
Going into details, Sunil said that he attended mandal-level meeting in his office on Wednesday at 11 am on invitation from Puthalapattu MPDO. He stated that officials did not commence meeting due to political reasons despite there was required quorum in the meeting.
Chittoor: YSRCP Puthalapattu MLA Dr Sunil, who belongs to Dalit community, alleged that he was abused by senior TDP leaders of his constituency in the name of caste and tried to assault him. Speaking to the media at Press Club here on Wednesday, the MLA said that Dalits are facing threat in TDP rule.
Going into details, Sunil said that he attended mandal-level meeting in his office on Wednesday at 11 am on invitation from Puthalapattu MPDO. He stated that officials did not commence meeting due to political reasons despite there was required quorum in the meeting.
The YSRCP MLA alleged that the TDP leader and single window president Giri Naidu and his aide Balasubramanaya Naidu had abused him in ‘unparliamentary’ language for asking the MPDO to start the meeting. Sunil said that Giri Naidu abused him in the name of caste and declared himself as an unofficial MLA of Puthalapattu Assembly constituency.
The YSRCP MLA stated that he submitted a complaint to Chittoor DSP seeking action against Giri Naidu and his aide under SC, ST Atrocities Act. Sunil further said that he would ask the Assembly Speaker in the floor of the House to direct police officials for taking action against the accused.
Meanwhile, YSRCP district president and GD Nellore MLA K Narayanaswamy condemned the verbal attack on Puthalapattu MLA Sunil by TDP leaders. In a press release, Narayanaswamy demanded that the police officials to take action against the accused as per the complaint filed by MLA under SC, ST Atrocities Act.
Asked to comment over the complaint registered by MLA, DSP Lakshmi Naidu has admitted that he received a complaint from Sunil. The DSP stated that he directed Puthalapattu CI to verify facts about the incident. He assured of rendering justice to MLA after seeking report from CI.
