Visakhapatnam: The American Telugu Association has announced prestigious International Medical Excellency Award to city medical professional Padmasri Dr Kutikuppala Surya Rao. The award will be presented to him during the Sliver Jubilee celebrations of ATA (July 1- July 3) at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, USA. Dr Rao was selected for his services and contribution to the medical field in general and HIV/AIDS, Research Prevention and Treatment in particularly.
ATA, a not-for-profit group, was established in 1991, in the USA to assist and promote literary, cultural, educational, religious, social, economic, health and community activities of people of Telugu origin. One of the main periodic activities of ATA is to organize Telugu literary, educational, youth, and cultural conferences in various parts of USA.
This year ATA bi-annual conference will be held in Chicago. The convention boasts a first rate list of artists, actors, singers, politicians, humanitarians, scholars, and other noted dignitaries for performances, lectures, and seminars. In addition, it provides an opportunity to net work to promote cultural and business interests among the participants coming from different parts of the world.
