Anantapur: Minister for Information and IT Palle Raghunatha Reddy has called upon the roads and buildings department engineers to ensure roads connectivity to the remotest village and to the capital city Amaravati.

Speaking to the R&B engineers, who met him at his camp office here on Sunday, Raghunatha Reddy said that roads are symbols of development as such R&B should apply their mind on completion of the road projects proposed and not allow a single rupee to lapse as a result of not being able to spend allotted funds.

He asked them to call for tenders and complete the process as early as possible and speed up road the development works.

The Minister said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was giving top priority for roads connectivity within the districts and for all districts connectivity to Amaravati. He had been sanctioning funds and asking engineers to complete road projects on a fast track basis. There is no dearth of funds for roads development and advised engineers to spend the allotted funds and not allow funds to lapse.

As part of recent transfers, Shiva Kumar took charge as new superintending engineer of national highways. The Minister asked them to work in coordination with the District Collector and the people's representatives and earn the reputation of good workers by timely completion of all roads which were taken up.
