The Minister distributed the essential commodities among Muslims at Chintalapudi on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Ramzan was being celebrated as State festival and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu participated in an Iftar party.

Chintalapudi: Women and Child Welfare Minister Peethala Sujatha said Rs 60 lakh worth essential commodities were being distributed to 30,000 Muslims in the district under Chandranna Ramzan Tohfa.

The Minister distributed the essential commodities among Muslims at Chintalapudi on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Ramzan was being celebrated as State festival and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu participated in an Iftar party.

The distribution would be made through ration shops from July 1 to 11 lakh poor Muslims in State, she added. Listing out various welfare schemes, she said Rs 4 crore was released for taking up repairs and lighting up of mosques in State.

Earlier, the Minister distributed Ramzan gift packs to the eligible Muslim families at T Narsapuram and Lingapalem mandals in Chintalapudi constituency.

Joint Collector P Koteswara Rao, district supply officer Sivasankar Reddy, ZPTC members Talluri Radharani and K Ramachandra Rao, Mandal presidents Dasari Ramakka, Maddipati Subbalakshmi and Morampudi Mallikarjun Rao were present.
