Chittoor: It is mandatory for the District In-charge Minister to visit his district once in three months and review the progress of development works at a meeting and issue necessary instructions for the district authorities for attending to the pending issues relating to the district.

All the elected representatives of the district like MPs, MLAs, MLCs and Zilla Parishad chairperson and district officers would attend the review meeting to be convened by the District Collector and in which the In-charge Minister will review the development works.

However, Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, who is In-charge Minister for Chittoor district, did not have time attend the review meetings in Chittoor for the past two years due to his busy schedule in sorting out the issues pertaining to the construction of capital city Amaravati .

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has entrusted many responsibilities to the Municipal Administration Minister at the State-level. As a result, the Minister is confined to works at Amaravati and finds no time to turn his attention on Chittoor district. All the files relating to the In-charge Minister are said to be kept pending since several months, according to sources.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, K Narayana Swamy, district YSRCP president and GD Nellore MLA, condemned the indifferent attitude of In-charge Minister P Narayana for neglecting the district since several months.

As an elected representative of the district, “We don’t have platform to bring out the burning problems of the public. At the district-level, there is no chance to rise our voice because the In-charge Minister is not attending the review meetings. We made futile efforts in the Floor of the Assembly for exposing the core issues of the district for their redressal, but in vain,” he deplored.

He demanded Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to nominate a new In-charge Minister for the district as the present In-charge Minister P Narayana has apparently failed to justify his post. He felt that TDP government has failed to fulfil election promises. He further stated that the YSRCP would romp home in the next elections under the leadership of YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Chittoor Assembly constituency convener J Srinivasulu and others were present.
