First LED bulb manufacturing unit inaugurated in Agency
The Collector explained that manufacturing of LED bulbs is very easy as all it takes is to assemble various parts. He mentioned that two LED bulbs were distributed to each family and stressed the need for 50 crore more bulbs. He said that there is good demand for LED bulbs in the market.
Rampa Chodavaram: It is a welcome step to set up first LED bulb manufacturing unit by women groups at Rampa Chodavaram, as part of State government’s efforts to save energy, Collector H Arun Kumar said here on Thursday. He inaugurated first manufacturing centre of LED bulbs, tube lights and street lights here.
The Collector explained that manufacturing of LED bulbs is very easy as all it takes is to assemble various parts. He mentioned that two LED bulbs were distributed to each family and stressed the need for 50 crore more bulbs. He said that there is good demand for LED bulbs in the market.
He said that steps were being taken to replace conventional lights with LED bulbs in residential schools, district offices and panchayats. He visited Ginne Palli, Pada Jadangi, Musurumilli and Rampa Chodavaram villages on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Kumar said 10,000 acres of land belonging to tribal farmers were identified to plant saplings this year. He mentioned that steps would be taken to plant seven lakh saplings in coming 15 days (by planting 70 saplings in one acre of land).
He explained that payments would be made for fertilisers, conservation of plants, irrigation and digging pits in these lands through employment guarantee scheme funds and added that Rs 15 would be paid for each plant and Rs 1,050 would be paid for nurturing plants for three years. He suggested to the farmers that cashew cultivation is suitable for this region.
ITDA project officer K V N Chakradhar Babu called upon everyone to support LED bulb manufacturing unit set up by tribal women. He mentioned that steps were being taken to produce 1,000 bulbs per day from this unit. He exuded confidence that this unit would bring laurels to the Agency area.
