Taxable people can utilise Income Tax Declaration Scheme
He conducted an awareness meeting on ITDS here on Tuesday with tax practitioners and traders. Speaking on the occasion, he suggested to the taxable income holders to file their details till September 30, 2016 to avoid penalty.
Srikakulam: Taxable income holders, who have not been disclosing their full income sources and who have not been filing IT returns regularly can utilise Income Tax Declaration Scheme (ITDS), said Visakhapatnam range Principal Commissioner of IT Ch Omkareshwar.
He conducted an awareness meeting on ITDS here on Tuesday with tax practitioners and traders. Speaking on the occasion, he suggested to the taxable income holders to file their details till September 30, 2016 to avoid penalty.
Persons, who have assets with benami names, can legalise the assets by disclosing it to the IT Department by paying prescribed tax till September 30, 2017, he added.
If anybody having doubts regarding tax payments can contact Income Tax officers making a call to these phone numbers-0891-2713067, 2713093, he suggested. One can file their returns online by browsing to www.incometaxindia.efilling.com. After filing of details, one can receive acknowledgement, receipt and certificates within 15 days, he said. Income Tax Additional Commissioner Ravisankar Narayan, tax practitioners and traders attended the meeting.
