He inaugurated the three-day International Youth Conclave organised by Sathya Sai Trust at Sai Kulwant Prayer Hall in Prashanthi Nilayam, here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Goyal observed that it was heartening to see young devotees from across the world. Describing the conclave as a festival of joy and divinity, which united all religions, the Union Minister said that Baba's teachings, despite his demise still lives in the hearts of his devotees.

He advocated the inculcation of 3Ds Divinity, Discipline and Determination to bring about a change in the society. He called upon the youth to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who gave a call to the youth to support his initiatives for a climate change as well as for banishing terror from the country.

Goyal stated that India has immense spiritual strength. “All religions have contributed to the unity of the country. Real spirituality leads to service and service to humanity is service to God. We are not human beings with divine qualities but spiritual beings with human qualities,” he added.

Later speaking to press crops, the Union Minister said that he owed the good performance of Power Ministry to 500 young engineers hailing from rural areas, who were sweating it out for the development of the country.

“Under the rural electrification scheme 55 million homes have been electrified during the past couple of years,” he said and praised the Sathya Sai Trust for their service in supplying drinking water to 13,000 villages.

Earlier the State IT and Information Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister seeking Rs 100 crore to Puttaparthi for laying underground power cables as part of beautification of the religious tourist centre.

He also sought Rs 1,132 crore for setting up 105 new sub stations for improving the quality of power supply and extending new power connections under the rural electrification scheme. The three-day youth conclave concludes on Thursday. As many as 3,000 delegates from 69 countries participated in the conclave.
